World Interfaith Harmony Week is to foster peace, kindness and understanding.
February 2, through February 8, 2025
This week originated from the United Nations General Assembly in 2010. "Recognizing the importance of religious diversity in promoting global peace, the UN adopted this initiative to encourage dialogue among faiths and belief systems. The goal is to emphasize that shared values—such as compassion, kindness, and respect—are more significant than differences."
This week also modified the two Commandments to “Love of the Good,” and “Love of the Neighbor," to teach everyone goodwill and the power of kindness, charity, and healing. During this week, leaders of various faiths gather to discuss how religion can enrich our world.
Way to honor World Interfaith Harmony Week:
Promote:
Tell people how love and kindness are integral to all religious beliefs.
Learn:
Read the scriptures or learn about a different faith.
Tune in:
Tune in ( stream) to the celebrations to learn more about interfaith harmony.
Another "theme" for Interfaith Harmony Week 2025 focuses on “Faith in Action – Uniting for a Better World.” This theme emphasizes the power of religious communities uniting together to address global challenges such as poverty, and social injustice.
